Montana De Oro- "Spooners Cove"
Montana de Oro or 'the mountain of gold' is a state park near the town of Los Osos, about 13 miles north of San Luis Obispo. Its breathtaking views, refreshing breezes, and relaxing environment make it an ideal environment to celebrate a wedding.
The ceremony will take place at Spooners Cove at 3 pm. We highly recommend carpooling to the site as parking is limited and there will be others enjoying the cove. You might consider parking in downtown SLO near the Sidecar & then driving to Montana de Oro with other guests (see reception page for downtown parking info).
Going North Up 101:
- Take 101
- Exit (Left) Los Osos Valley Road.
- Continue Los Osos Valley Rd. as it vears left into Pacheco Valley Rd.
- Continue for 2 miles on Pacheco Valley Rd.
- Look for a parking lot down into a beach cove, with a Spooner's Cove sign.
- Also, if there is no parking in the cove, pull out and continue 'up' the road and park near the trail entrances on the left.
Going South Down 101:
- Take 101
- Exit (Right) onto Los Osos Valley Road.
- Take the same route mentioned in the directions above!
Once you've parked, be prepared to walk about 100 yards through the pebble sands to meet for the ceremony. We recommend just taking off your shoes and walking barefoot, it feels great! We will provide a few chairs for those who need them, but for the majority of time we plan on moving around the beach before and after the cermony.
After the ceremony, its play time! Do you like kites? Let's fly some. We will also have a few other outdoor ball games going on. Its also a great time to explore the cove and the tide pools. The bluffs above offer fantastic views of Morrow Bay and beyond. After a couple of hours we'll wrap things up and head back into town to have a reception dinner at the Sidecar Restaurant.
